QUEENSFERRY CROSSING: Scotus directors Jim and Catherine Wallace have taken part in this weekend's historic walk across the new Queensferry Crossing. The construction of the 1.7 mile bridge across the river Forth has been the largest civil engineering project in Scotland for many years. 50,000 people have been given the opportunity to walk over before it opens to traffic - a one time event since it will not normally have pedestrian access. "It was a beautiful day and we strolled with our friends in early September sunshine", said Jim Wallace, "The views across the Forth were spectacular. This was a very special time." Some 250,000 people applied to take part, the lucky 20% being selected by ballot. The Queensferry Crossing is being officially opened by Her Majesty The Queen on Monday, September 4 when the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland will also bless the new bridge.
